Costume Expectations
All costumes should be hung up somewhere safe on the day that dancers bring them home!!  Once the costume is delivered to the dancer, TDC is no longer responsible for any lost or damaged items. Dancers should only wear their costumes for Picture Day (May) and for Rehearsal & Recital (June). Do NOT iron your costume! Most wrinkles will release after being hung. If they still remain, you can hang them in the bathroom while showering to steam the costume.

Below is some information about what we expect to see your dancer in while on stage…
UNDERGARMENTS & TIGHTS
REVIEW REQUIRED COSTUME ITEMS ON THE POSTER BOARD IN LOBBY OR ON PARENT PORTAL.

• ​Clear/skin tone undergarments. Any  undergarments and straps (i.e., Bras, camisole leotards, underwear) must be clear or skin tone or we will ask that they be removed. We encourage dancers to NOT wear underwear - as tights and costumes have a built in lining.
• TIGHTS - MUST be the Capezio brand. If you have not purchased tights already - you should now! Please reach out to see if we have any available OR visit Fancy Feet. 

HAIR & MAKEUP

• Hair pulled back into a neat hairstyle. This includes all hair, including long bangs. Hair nets should be worn for all buns. 
• No jewellery or nail polish is allowed on stage. If any is worn, we will ask that they are removed before going on stage. We are not responsible for any lost items. 
  Stud earrings are acceptable. 

• Stage makeup is welcome to highlight your dancer’s beauty! We recommend blush, eye shadow, mascara, and lipstick! Remember, there are bright lights on stage that will likely wash your dancer’s face out.
